Demeko Taylor, Executive Real Estate Broker with Compass, started his career in Sales in 1999 as a teller for First National Bank of Chicago.  Throughout the rapid four years of mergers (First National Bank, to Bank One, to J.P Morgan Chase), Mr. Taylor acquired various securities licenses which helped launch his career as one of the youngest financial advisors in Chicago.

During Mr. Taylor’s time there, he was one of the youngest brokers who managed clients portfolio's in Chicago's Gold Coast/River North Region.  His ability to connect and effectively communicate with clients led to recognition with Top Producer Awards for client retention and balance sheet growth during one of the toughest economic times.  Before his amicable departure with J.P Morgan, Mr. Taylor accomplished his double major degree in Marketing Communications & Public Relations. 

After nearly six years of working on the institution side of securities, Mr. Taylor transitioned to the independent side as a Senior Investment Advisor for John Hancock Corporation.  During his time there, Mr. Taylor decided to further his education and enrolled in an intense three year Certified Financial Planner program.  Mr. Taylor's performance awarded him to be sponsored for additional licenses which were a stepping stone for the next adventure in his career.

Three years after loyal servitude with John Hancock, Mr. Taylor was presented with an opportunity to become the Director of Education for a startup Hedge Fund in Chicago.  Mr. Taylor successfully created the Code of Ethics, Employee Handbook, and training materials to help assimilate the startup to new government standards.  Seen as a rising star among the Executive Management team, they created position and promoted him to Senior Compliance Officer.  Mr. Taylor's performance allowed for sponsorship of his Series 24 license, which afforded him the opportunity to work side by side with the COO & CSO.  Mr. Taylor's reputations in the industry and with clients allowed him to raise additional capital and to help add clients to the company’s portfolio.  

After nearly thirteen years in finance, Mr. Taylor decided to move in a different direction.  Mr. Taylor took a consulting position with Blue Cross and Blue Shield, as an Implementation Advisor.  His duty was to facilitate the smooth transition of plan participants during the launch of the Affordable Care Act.  Mr. Taylor's talents were acknowledge by management and he was promoted to the account management team for the Top 50 Companies in the United States. Later Mr. Taylor's knowledge, expertise and execution were once again noticed by executive management staff and Chief Medical Directors.  He was promoted to assist the merger & acquisition team.  During this time, his projects included streamlining the call center and examining insurance fraud cases.  Mr. Taylor's thirst for knowledge and professional growth piqued his interest to obtain a Real Estate Broker License.

After a year of being licensed, Mr. Taylor ventured back full-time to the independent Broker world with Remax Premier Proprieties in Chicago's affluent Gold Coast neighborhood.  Mr. Taylor formed a partnership with one of the most respected Vice President & Managing Brokers of Habitat Real Estate Group.  Their yin & yang approach allowed them to successfully form the Bursac & Taylor Group Team.  During Mr. Taylor's time with Remax, he managed to recruit several agents to assist with the business flow.  The Bursac & Taylor Group was the recipient of the Executive Club Sales Award in January 2014!

Seen as an up and coming Broker, Mr. Taylor was on radar to join the recently merged (Prudential & KoenigRubloff), Berkshire Hathaway family.  The dynamics of the Bursac & Taylor Group were admired amongst senior management, and they were offered a Brokers position in the most elite Gold Coast Office in May 2014.  The Bursac & Taylor Group contributed in growing the office sales from the upper hundreds of million to 1.1 Billion in three years.  In 2017, Mr. Taylor decided to venture out on his own and form the Demeko Taylor Real Estate Group.  Mr. Taylor recently obtained an Accredited Buyer Representative certification and looks forward to continuing to service his clients efficiently and effectively.
